Jimmy Malecki is a versatile visual storyteller whose career began with photography and naturally expanded into the world of video production. Initially capturing moments through stills, Jimmy developed a sharp eye for detail and composition that translated seamlessly into behind-the-scenes work for film and television productions. Specializing in Electronic Press Kits (EPK) and documentary-style footage, his storytelling approach offers a rare, intimate glimpse into the production process.
One of his standout projects was working on the set of Parer’s War, a biopic about Australia’s first celebrity war cameraman, Damien Parer, who filmed iconic footage of Australian soldiers during World War II and won the country’s first Academy Award. During this production, Jimmy captured extensive behind-the-scenes footage and conducted interviews with the cast and crew. His footage became an integral part of a documentary, produced by Andrew Brinsmead. This behind-the-scenes documentary showcased the dedication and artistry involved in bringing Parer’s remarkable story to life. Jimmy’s unique ability to capture both the technical and human sides of filmmaking has made him a valued contributor to many high-profile productions.
